Nine Ukrainian cities ranked as the most expensive cities in the world

Swiss Zurich has become a leader in the ranking of the most expensive cities in the world according to the statistical source Numbeo who published a January report on the cost of living index.


Among the top five are: Basel, Lausanne, Geneva and Bern (Switzerland), and the top 10 are: Stavanger, Oslo, Trondheim (Norway), Reykjavik (Iceland) and Bergen (Norway).


The arrangement included nine Ukrainian cities. Kiev became the most expensive - 347th place. Next is Odessa - 361, Kharkov - 376, Nikolaev - 381, Dnipro - 383, Vinnytsia - 384, and Lviv - 385. Also on the list are Ternopil - 392 and Zaporozhye - 395.


In total, the source Numbeo included 440 cities. The cost of living is calculated based on prices in stores and restaurants, transportation and utilities, as well as the purchasing power of the population. The cost of renting or buying a home is estimated separately.
