Number of tourists coming from Ukraine to Georgia rises

The number of tourists from Ukraine to Georgia has increased 2.5 times since 2012

The first deputy head of the Georgian Tourism Department, Rusudan Mamatsashvili, has announced that the number of Ukrainian tourists coming to Georgian territory increased from 2012 to 2018 by 2.5 times.

The Georgian official revealed during her meeting with Ukrainian journalists in Tbilisi on Tuesday, July 30, that more than 177 thousand Ukrainian citizens visited Georgia for tourism purposes last year, noting that it expected to reach about 187 thousand people this year.

She stated that the most preferred areas for Ukrainian tourists in Georgia are the capital, Tbilisi, the city of Batumi, the city of Kakhtia, as well as Mount Kazbek.

She added that one of the main reasons for the increase in the number of Ukrainian tourists is due to the revitalization of the Georgian side for its efforts in the field of tourist advertising.
